99 of Any Item and Winning at the Slot Machines at Celadon!
Get 99 of ANY Item
Note: This works with every item, INCLUDINGthe Master Ball, and Rare Candy!
To get 99 of any item, first put the item you want 99 of in the 6th position in your items list.Use FLY and go to Viridian City. Talk to the old man near the top of town. When he asks you if you are in a hurry, answer NO. You then have to watch him catch a weedle. Use FLY immediately and go to Fuchsia city. Make your way south to where you meet the water. Use SURF to reach Seafoam Island. At Seafoam Island, SURF up and down the beach until you are attacked by a Pokemon named *M*. Kill it or run away from it but DO NOT catch it.Check your items. You should now have 99 of the item in the 6th slot!!
Winning at the Slot Machines in Celadon
Note: You can find coincs on the ground and floor here by just walking around hitting the (A) button!
Search for the woman that says that the machines have different odds, and play on the Slot Machine right above her. This one tends to payout quite often. You will need to hit the button as fast as you can, or, use a Super Gameboy and a controller with turbo buttons to get this to work.Otherwise, play each machine 4 times until you find one that hits at least 2 times in those 4 times and stick with that machine.Holding the SELECT BUTTON down while playing the slots will also make them easier to win on. |

A Trick to Capture Land Pokemon in Water, Make a Pokeball Act Like a Master Ball, Do Extra Damage in Battle, and Fish Forever in the Safari Zone
Capture Land Pokemon in Water
The only places you can do this are Cinnabar Island and Seafoam Island.To get this to work, simply SURF/SWIM on a square that is half land and half water along the beach of either of these Islands. The Pokemon you will encounter are the Pokemon you were fighting in the most recent area you were just in!So, if you go to the Safari Zone and let your time run out in the area with the Pokemon you want to capture (Tauros for example), then make your way immediately to on of the Islands, you may just encounter that Pokemon in the water!
Make Pokeball Act Like Master Ball
To do this, simply throw a regular Pokeball and hold DOWN on the crosspad and B button at the same time until the Pokeball explodes! This takes practice and good timing so keep at it!This also works while holding UP and B, or SELECT and A at the same time!
Do Extra Damage in Battle
This one takes timing and practice too. Select your attack in battle and when you see a prompt that your Pokemon is about to use its attack, hold the (A) button down until your opponent's life bar stops draining.
Fish in Safari Zone Forever
Since your time limit in the Safari Zone is based on the number of steps you take (you get 500), if you don't move at all while at the water fishing, you can literally fish forever there and never run out of time. |

Invisible PC
Go to the Motel in Celadon City and walk up to the very center of the far right wall, and face North. Press the (A) button to search, and you will access a hidden PC! |
Hidden Fishing Trick
When inside any Pokemon Gym, stand next to a Pokemon Statue and use any of your fishing rods and just go fishing right there! Fish often enough and sometimes you can catch Water Pokemon this way! |

Cloning Your Pokemon
In order to do this cheat you will need another Game Boy system and Pokemon game. Trade the Pokemon that you want to clone, and have the other player get a Pokemon that they do not care about. Trade Pokemon, and make sure the player receiving the bad one can see the other player's screen. When the Game Boy that receives the good Pokemon's displays "Waiting", get ready to shut the other Game Boy off. When the "Waiting" message disappears, turn off the Game Boy that is receiving the bad Pokemon. When the "Trade completed" message appears, turn off the other Game Boy. When both players turn their Game Boys back on they will both have the good Pokemon. |
Fishing for Really Good Pokemon
This trick requires the Blue version of the game, a Good Rod, and five Badges.Go fishing in Pokemon Headquarters on Route 22. Inside, there is an pool that must be crossed with SURF. Go fishing instead here to catch all of these Pokemon: Slowbro, Psyduck, Kingler, Seadra, and Seaking. On the opposite side of the pool there is a patch of grass that might contain a Ditto! |

How to Start With All 3 of Starting Pokemon
In order for this trick to work, another Gameboy system, game, and a link cable are needed. Transfer your Pokemon from your Gameboy to the other Gameboy. Begin a new game on your original Game Boy and select one of Professor Oak's Pokemon that was not collected before on your original Gameboy. Transfer that Pokemon to the other Gameby. Repeat this step again, then transfer all of the Pokemon back to the original Gameboy. This allows your game to have all three starting Pokemon (Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle) plus any others you had already captured. |
Catch a Pokemon That Starts at Level 15
This also requires perfect timing. Just as you toss the Pokeball to capture the Pokemon, hit (A), (B), and Start all at the exact same time. If you do it right, the Pokemon you catch will start at level 15! |

Level 70 Gyarados
Go to the spot where Mewtwo is and fish about 3 times. You will find a level 70 Gyarados there! |
Cut Off Pikachu's Ear
Take Pikachu and a pokemon that knows CUT. Go chop down a tree and stand in the place where it was. Save and turn off your game. Turn your game back on. Turn around and face Pikachu. Now, cut down the tree. If you did this correctly, Pikachu will make the noise he does when he faints and an image will appear with one ear gone and blood dripping from it. |

Get Mew
Use a Blue or Red Version Game.
Trade with a friend for a pokemon that already knows CUT, to avoid getting on S.S. Anne. Play straight through until you beat Koga. Make sure you have the HM03 and the HM04 with you.
Get the pokemon and the correct status that follows:
Charmander Level 49 No Rare Candies Used
Blastoise Level 49 Rare Candies May Be Used
Arcanine Level 49 No Rare Candies Used
Take these pokemon. Make sure one of them knows SURF and STRENGTH. Now go back to S.S. Anne. After the man flashes your ticket, SURF off the dock to the right. When you reach land again, you'll find a jeep. Use STRENGTH to move the jeep. Under it, will be a poke ball that holds Mew inside! |
Safari Zone - No Admission Price
Go to Safari Zone with less that 500, but not 0. The man will ask you if you'd like to join the hunt. Say yes, but he will say, "Uh oh! You don't have enough money! I'll let you through, but I can't give you all 30 Safari Balls!" Do the game as usual and when you leave, go back again. This time, he won't let you go in at all because you have 0. Ask him again until he says, "Read my lips! No! You're pretty persistant aren't you? I'll let you in this time, but just this once!" You will only get 1 Safari Ball, but the good thing about this, is that you can do it as many times as you like! |
